I'd like to suggest we take a little sightseeing-trip into the woods and get off the big road before the border crossing..
A friend of mine told me that there are plenty of small roads without customs. At these roads they only do spot-checks but keep no constant guard. So even if that would be a bit farther and longer time, it might be worth it.. We could probably find a good route using google maps or something, I've looked around and seen a few possible routes. The standards of these roads are likely "not great", but anything for beer, eh?
Does anyone know any routes that are better/worse to use?

All I can picture right now is some banjo playing local trying to sell us a canoe for a 'safe' border crossing.
We can send Hef into the woods to create a diversion while we charge the road block in our van....oh dear oh dear!

Anyone knows what penalties/fines to expect ?
Tbh i am not fond of trying to smuggle too much across the border, when we dont know what to expect - and a van with danish numberplates, containing 5 youngsters with AC-DC shirts *points at Hef* is guaranteed to be pulled aside by the customs ...
How much do a sixpack of beer cost at the supermarket in Norway ?

To much way to much......
and i must say that i prefer to cross the border at the main road, even if they have controls theres a little chance that we will get thorugh okay, but if we cross the border on some small weird smuggler route in the woods we are very much likely to get busted like hell if theres someone there watching it.

I'd say that the main border crossing is way more risky... It's like Saxon says.. A van with danish plates and five guys in it.. That's like begging to be stopped. According to my "source", the smaller roads are near risk free.. I wouldn't swear by that, but I am prepared to believe it.
But I would also say that the driver is the one who decides. If Saxon says only legal amounts of beer, I will comply, 100%.

I went across today and there was control. Friday-sunday is a 80% chance of control.
If you take the old bridge road you are down to about 20%. Tgen after you crossed you follow the signs back to E6. This part is crucial. If not you risk ending up in 2nd control point. So if you take old bridge then first chance toget back to E6 you will come out 100m behind the checkpoint on the new road. That means you actually get to see if you would have been checked.
If they have control you will 100% be checked. My stepfather have one of them lorries/vans and he get stopped almost everytime.
Good luck!

Just read that in Norway, beer and "rusbrus" less than 5% alcohol is sold in regular grocery stores (unlike in Sweden).
The prices I've previously checked at Vinmonopolet.no are supposed to be way higher than in the shops.. Around 13 NOK for a 33cl 4,5% beer is what I've come up with.. Even tho that's not cheap, it's not THAT extreme either..
So let's see.. 33cl for 13 NOK is aproximately 15.5 SEK (or 11 DKK)..
Cheapest beer in Sweden is around 10 SEK for 50cl.. 5,2%
Without accounting for the difference in percent, that means that the Norwegian-bought beer is twice the price of Swedish.. Is it worth worrying about customs to save a few hundred SEK (or DKK)? I'd be happy bringing my 5 liters of rusbrus and buying the rest in Norway.
Just my two cents.
