How is the general atmosphere in the game?
I mean is it a very dark & dire world or do you get to hop in merry lush green fields slicing bunny rabbits left & right?

Its very Diablo'ish to a certain degree: you run around on randomly spawned maps killing things left and right. As they die items drop to the ground.
The setting is London in a near future. The city is demolished and overrun by minions from hell. Its far from green fields
You can play a few diferent classes using either swords, guns or "magic". A mix of such diferent classes actually work
Its a full 3D fps with really nice graphics. You can play in 1st person or zoom out to 3rd person, wichever you prefer.
Its smooth and you have good control of your avatar.
In between the maps there are hubs where you meet other people, repair, sell, upgrade your weapon, use your bank and whatnot.
It def has a big fun factor. Great for quick sessions and fast action. However long term I fear it will be too repetetive (despite the random maps) and become boring.
I know nothing about pvp yet, but Im sure there is that option as well.

I preorder from Discshop, got my beta code since I was in the alpha test. Think the last date to preorder was 23oct to get the dye and beta code. Got this mail today, seems like the european server will start :
Welcome to the European Hellgate: London Beta Test!
Hey there! If you're receiving this email, that means one of two things:
You've pre-ordered Hellgate: London from one of the participating European retailers and redeemed your a beta account on the US Beta test before 6PM October 23 PDT. If this is the case, than your account information (username/password) will work on the European server as well. Also, your Dye Kit and Founders Offer is already tied to both your US and EU account, so there is no need to redeem your pre-order code again.
Note: If you have not redeemed your pre-order code yet, DO NOT LOSE IT. Any US or EU Beta accounts created from now on will need to have the code entered to have access to the Dye Kit and Founders Offer at launch.
You are part of the US Beta test, but did not pre-order Hellgate: London from a participating European retailer. In this case, you will need to click the link below to create a European account. Once that's done, you can log onto the European server and begin playing.

Ordered it from www.cdon.com/
They send out the Betacodes every Friday, so I should receive that tomorrow.

The anwser to the repetitive thing....go Hardcore. No one wants their level 40 (5 days played) toon to die and never come back....puts more ice into each encounter....especially around the Millenium Battle map...

Think we can buy a Guild Herald now from the npc vendor at the station, 10.000 credits tho.
Will play some later tonight on server Sydonai.
Can choose elite mode now when you create a char, maby give it a try.
