I had this idea, based on seeing it on other boards.
Think it's worth having a flames forum? When an argument in a thread gets out of hand, the whole thread is transported to the flames forum. This doesn't stop anyone commenting on it, but ensures it is taken in it's proper context.
I think it might help with public perception of the boards, and stop the odd argument looking like a big thing.
Comments, suggestions as always are welcome.
Also we need a CLOWNish name for the forum if we decide to go with it

My vote is no.
Who will be the judge of weather its a flamer or not?
Sometimes things might be taken the totally wrong way and posts made might not at all be meant as a flamer. What all need to know is that we are several species of small furry animals gathered together in a cave and grooving with a pict and not all in here are total masters of the English language. So if all read posts made with an open, friendly and understanding mind and we will do much better.
My suggestions as to better the flaming situation is to remove the "Last 10 posts" from the main page. Letting people self find the forum they seek might be a better way to go. Well, just a suggestion.
Edit: Name of Pink Floyd song..

That's pretty much the only navigation I use on this site.
I like to see what the recent posts are.

I know Morri, mine too But with the speed of things on that stat its hard to keep up with the posts made. Take a request for a group for instance. It will be out of that list within an hour or two on normal days so unless you use it at that time we wont have seen it at all
Lately it has been the three different raids that has occupied at least three spots on that statistic, which leaves 7 for "normal" posts. Now that raidsignups are moved those three spots will be available again though.
But it was just a suggestion to keep the flamers a bit out of view and maybe create a button on the front page with "Last unread posts" or something if we want to read every post made.
If one want to go to the clown hall then one finds ones way there, wowforum as well and also groups.
Hmm.. not sure I like this suggestion myself, but it is at least a suggestion

If I have what I feel is a valid point on something such as having been treated unfairly and such, I will get pissed of if I'm redirected to a Flames Forum.
It's a great idea if U want no part in a discussion, but for the one with the 'valid point' it can be conceived as extremely condescending.
Good suggestion Dave, but I vote no.

Me?
Well it looks like the flames forum isn't going ahead
I'll have to develop an asbestos suit add-on for vulnerable users, then. Give me a couple of weeks
