I've got a mac version of a Fraps type app.
Not quite sure what the Ringmaster has in mind for this Clowning... last one I was on was a LONG time ago and certainly involved a lot of people Cliffdiving. The whole event took a fairly long while and that will chew HDD space... but I can see what I can do.

Teamspeak has recording functionality built-in. I will set up the Teamspeak server to record the clownees' audio during the event.
Video-wise, I can run Taksi during the event - I have plenty of hard drive space. Of course, video would be best recorded from Lith's point of view but she runs on MacOS so can't run Taksi.
Also I'm not yet sure what part of the CLOWNing I'll be running so I may be with the CLOWNees but may not be. Someone else might have to record the video, and I'd rather have someone familiar with the software so there are no "oops it didn't record" moments

Shall I game from another computer then?? I can go to my parents? The image is terrible, but it'll be worth it.

Yeah I was thinking that or fraps.... I can run one or the other from time to time and coordinate with you so that we have good coverage?

I run Mac OS X too... and as stated we have a software option.
It works pretty well - but takes a fair chunk of your frame rate with it. Can be set to record your Mic or System audio (so would include Teamspeak).

Fraps you have to pay for so we can go for Taksi which is free.
Light and I have discussed it and I think we're gonna go for me recording the events at Honor Hold with the guild and Light recording the events with the CLOWNees. We will have a Teamspeak CLOWNing channel that will be recorded from the start and I will dub the audio onto the resulting video.
Light and I will need to practice first though

Ah, if you are playing on a Macbook it's using shared ram for the gpu. Though there have been a few upgrades in the OS and WoW that may have improved framerates recently.
I'll play around with my application anyway - simply because I've not used it recently anyway

2gb ram would probably help quite a lot - though your main issue is that the Macbooks (non pro) use shared memory for the graphics, instead of using a dedicated graphics card.
I'll go through a load of settings changes that work well with Mac's as they are not the same ones as PC based.... even though they look the same.
I won't be able to do this without my game machine alas, so will do it when you are next online at the same time as me.
